This assignment required me to form and work in a group of 5 people for the duration of the module. Each group was asked to develop, design and produce a publication that is influenced by their research into one or more specific areas of visual communication practice.

How we determined what a publication ‘could be’ was up to ourselves. My group wanted to take the widest possible view as to what a publication could be. These areas were: Typography, print-making, illustration, information design, editorial design, branding, design for social good, app/web based design, motion graphics, cultural sector design, publishing, etc...

This project was aimed to enable us to develop deep into certain specialist areas or fields of creative practice, sharing knowledge with my group members and to give me the opportunity to develop critical, expert and professional subject knowledge.

Our publication featured Interviews with creative practitioners, work made by group members in response to research into creative practice, Comparisons of the regional, national and global findings, etc.… The design and formant of our publication reflected and related to the types of creative practice which our group focussed upon.

This project required us to explore the potential of what a publication could be, by going beyond the norm of a printed A4 document. We thought experimentally, creatively, and innovative.
